In Arafah pray Dhur and Asr and spend the rest of the day supplicating, by raising and without raising hands, standing, sitting, asking Allah for forgiveness and guidance for your selves and all the Ummah. The Day of Arafaah is the Day that we all make this journey for.

On this Day; Allah frees slaves from the fire on Arafat more than any other day

Likewise, the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘There is no day on which Allaah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of’Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on ’Arafah), and then He revels before His Angels saying, ‘What are these people seeking.”[Jaami’ut-Tirmidhee (3/377)]

On this Day: Forgiveness of the Sins even if they are like the foam on the Sea

As for you staying till the evening in Arafah, then Allaah descends to the sky of the Duniya and He boasts about you to the Angels, and says: ‘My slaves have come to Me, looking rough, from every deep valley hoping for My mercy, so if your sins were equivalent to the amount of sand or the drops of rain or like the foam on the sea I will forgive them. So go forth My slaves! Having forgiveness and for what or who you have interceded for.’

[Reported by at-Tabarani in his book “al-Kabeer” and by al-Bazaar.

On This Day: It is the day on which the religion was perfected and Allaah’s Favour was completed.

In Al-Saheehayn it was reported from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) that a Jewish man said to him, “O Ameer al-Mu’mineen, there is an aayah in your Book which you recite; if it had come to us Jews, we would have taken that day as an ‘Eid (festival).” ‘Umar said,“Which aayah?” He said: “This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [al-Maa’idah 5:3 – interpretation of the meaning].‘Umar said, “We know on which day and in which place that was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). It was when he was standing in ‘Arafaah on a Friday.”

Allaah expresses His pride to His angels

It was reported from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah expresses His pride to His angels at the time of ‘Ishaa’ on the Day of ‘Arafaah, about the people of‘Arafaah. He says, ‘Look at My slaves who have come unkempt and dusty.’”  Narrated by Ahmad and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.

The standing on ‘Arafaat is the hajj.

The standing on ‘Arafaat is the hajj. The crowds should remind you of the Day of Resurrection. Humble yourself to Allaah, manifest your‘uboodiyyah to Him Alone through du’aa, sincere intention and strong determination to free yourself from the sins of the past and to build up a commitment to rush for doing what is good. Think of becoming a better person when you return. Rid yourself of false pride and showing off because it may ruin what you gain on this day.

The Almighty Swears by these 10 Days:

Allah , the Almighty, swears by these days.

  • By the dawn
  • By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijja)
  • And by the even and the odd (of all the creations of Allah). (Al-Fajr 1-3)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘ The ten are the ten days of Dhul- Hijja and the odd is the Day of Arafah and the even is the Eid ( Ahmed 3/ 327 and Bazzar 2286) Ibn Rajab graded the isnad of this hadeeth as being Hasan.

(Source: Taken from Laýtaif al Maýrif and Tafseer ibn Katheer , Translated and compiled by Abu Aaliyah Abdullah ibn Dwight Battle ).

Wuquf Arafah (The standing at Arafat):

The standing at Arafat praying and seeking forgiveness is of paramount significance. The standing huge crowds remind us of the Day of Resurrection, of how we will all stand equal before Allah on the Day of Judgment.

After Maghrib all the pilgrims will be transported from Arafah to Muzdhalifah where Maghrib and Isha will be prayed and everyone should rest as the Messanger of Allah rested.

Day – 7: (04/10/2014) 10th of Dhul Hijjah (Eid day for the none pilgrims):

Perform the rites of Hajj .Stoning Jammara AQaba (The big jamara), Sacrifice, shaving or cutting the hair, tawaf al Ifadha and return to Minnah.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Zaad al-Ma’aad (1/54): The best of days before Allaah is the Day of Sacrifice, which is the greatest day of Hajj as it says in Sunan Abi Dawood (1765), where it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The greatest of days before Allaah is the Day of Sacrifice.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

2- It is the greatest day of Hajj.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood between the Jamaraat on the Day of Sacrifice during his Hajj and said, “This is the greatest day of Hajj.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1742.
“This is the greatest day of Hajj.”
That is because the greatest actions of Hajj take place on this day, when the pilgrims do the following:

(i) Stoning Jamrat al-‘Aqabah

(ii) Offering the sacrifice

(iii) Shaving the head or cutting the hair

(iv) Tawaaf (circumambulation of the Ka’bah)

(v) Saa’i (running between al-Safa and al-Marwah)

3- It is the Eid day of the Muslims

After after completing all this the Pilgrims are required to return to Mina to complete the days of Tashreeq

Day – 8: (05/10/2014) – Second day of stoning:
On the 11th of Dhul Hijjah On this day  all three jamarat are stoned . Pilgrims are required to spend part of the night in mina.

Day – 9: (06/10/2014) – Third day of stoning:
On the 12th Dhul Hijjah this will be the third day of stoning once we have stoned all three jamarats we can then leave Mina for Azziziyah apartments or could stay in Mina

Day – 10: (07/10/2014) – Rest day at the Azziziyah or final day of stoning:
On the 13th Dhul Hijjah Rest day at the Azziziyah . This is a very welcome rest after completing the rites of Hajj.

On the 14th Dhul Hijjah the group will check in to Makkah Hotel 5 star Ratana  Hotel.

This would take place during the evening as check in time is…. and the drive to the Hotel is a short distance but congestion on the roads is at its peak as a result of that can take some time.

15th Dhul Hijjah: Rest day at Hotel, prayers in Haram Tawaf. Please note  these are the busiest days in and around the Haram you will need to prepare and leave about 30 minutes before any salah if you wish to pray inside the Masjid as crowds start to block pathways leading into the masjid well before the pray times. Also take caution  if you intend to make Tawaf as these days are extremely busy in the mataf (the open area around the Kabah) the roof is the preferred choice for those who want a peaceful hassle free Tawaf (specially for families with a children)

Day – 14: (11/10/2014) – Leaving for Madinah , check out of Makkah hotel:

On the 17th Dhul Hijjah: Perform tawaf al widah and prepare to leave for Madinah moving from one place to another during Hajj journey is always a little difficult as thousands if not hundreds of thousands pilgrims are on the move in any one day, so a lot patience is required. The coach journey can take anything up to 10/12 hours. Usually about 6/8 if no unnecessary stops are made. On arriving in Madinah after checking into Movnpick if the The Masjid is open one may choose to go to the Rodha and give the salams to Prophet sws .

Day – 15: (12/10/2014) First day in Madina:

Visiting Jannatul Baqqi (which is adjacent to the Prophets Masjid at the front towards the left of the Masjid) It is open to individual visitors after Asr.  Large organised group visits are unwelcome by the authorities You may choose to pray Maghrib or Ish outside at the front of the Masjid on the left of the Imam and accompany the funeral for burial (which is almost after every salah). This is not only a Sunnah but is heart softener and leaves an everlasting affect. You can do this as many times as like.

You can also choose to visit Masjid Quba after making wudu from the hotel and earn the reward of an Umrah. Its a 20 or 30 sr return taxi ride (if you are good at battering) You can do this daily (optional) after Fajar is a good time for the visit
